Luis E. Villaplana, M.D.

Luis E. Villaplana, M.D.

Luis E. Villaplana, M.D. was born in Puerto Rico and received his medical degree from Ponce School of Medicine in 1986. He served residency at Youngstown Hospital Association and was certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in 1995. He has practiced internal medicine since 1989 and is fully bilingual in English and Spanish.

His is a Key Faculty Teaching Professor of Medicine at Forum Health Systems in Youngstown Ohio where he received the Golden Apple Award for Internal Medicine Teacher of the Year in 2008 for the Internal medicine Residency Program. Luis is an Affiliate of Internal Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and a Professor of Internal Medicine at Northeastern Ohio Universities Colleges of Medicine (NEOUCOM). He served as Medical Director of Valley Renaissance Health Care Facility in Boardman, Ohio and was senior and founding member of Physicians Motivators Inc. in Canfield, Ohio.


Kathy Weimer, R.N.

Kathy Weimer, R.N.

Kathy Weimer graduated from Aultman School of Nursing, Canton, Ohio in 1966 and has been a Registered Nurse for 44 years. She has worked in Long Term Care since, 1977, first as a staff nurse, Assistant Director of Nursing and then as Director of Nursing.

As a Nurse Surveyor for the Ohio Department of Health for 11 years, Kathy conducted surveys in SNF/NF Nursing Facilities, as well as surveys for MR/DD homes and Home Health Agencies. She spent four years as a Quality Assurance Director for 10 Facilities and became an independent Consultant for Nursing Facilities as well as Home Health agencies.

Kathy has taught workshops about the annual survey for staff employed in nursing facilities and is currently a Clinical Manager at a nursing facility part time.


Anabel Esparra-Collins, L.S.W.

Anabel Esparra-Collins, L.S.W.

Anabel Esparra-Collins received B.A. in Psychology and is a Licensed Social Worker in the State of Ohio. Her previous experience includes Director of Admissions and Social Services, Regional Marketing Director and Long-Term Care Consultant in addition to being a public speaker and continuing education provider. She has 21 years of experience in long-term care.


James Logston, PT

James Logston, PT

James Logston graduated from West Liberty State College in 1987 and from Cleveland State University, School of Physical Therapy in 1989. Over Jim's 20 plus years of experience he has worked in all areas of physical therapy, as well as being a professional witness and job site evaluator. As a physical therapist, Jim has provided training in body mechanics, ergonomics and transfer techniques in a variety of job and work sites. In the last 10 years Jim has focused on working in long-term care and providing services for the homebound, including home safety assessments and wheelchair evaluations.


Greg Truhan

Greg Truhan - Retired Secret Service

Greg Truhan received a M.S. degree in Criminal Justice from Youngstown State University in 1986 and a B.S. in Applied Science, Law Enforcement Administration (Minor in Psychology), from Youngstown State University in 1981.

He was a Senior Special Agent, United States Secret Service (Department of Homeland Security) from 1986 through 2008 when he retired. Greg has conducted numerous protective assignments for the Secret Service around the world including Afghanistan, Belgium, Bermuda, Bosnia, Egypt, England, Ethiopia, France, Guam, Guyana, Haiti, Israel, Ivory Coast, Jamaica, Japan, Liberia, Nicaragua, Niger, Norway, Palestine, Sudan, and Uganda.

After the terrorist attacks on 09/11/2001, Greg was temporarily assigned to the World Trade Center Recovery Task Force, working at "Ground Zero" in New York City. He is currently an adjunct faculty member of Lakeland Community College.


Lee Silvi

Lee Silvi

Lee Silvi received a B.S. (Dyke College / Meyers University) now known as Chancellor University and an M.P.A. from Cleveland State University.

He spent 14 years at the Fairport Harbor Fire Department and was Fairport Harbor Fire Chief for five and a half years. Prior to that he was at the Mentor Fire Department for 26 years.

Lee is Program Director and a Professor for both the Fire Science Technology and the Emergency Management Planning and Administration programs at Lakeland Community College. He often also teaches one section of POLS 2100 State and Local Government.


Powell W. Caesar, III

Powell W. Caesar, III

Powell Caesar is presently the Director of Public Affairs for the Cuyahoga County (OH) Coroner’s Office.

A veteran public relations practitioner, he also has served as Director of Communications and Community Relations for the City of Parma, Ohio.

Caesar began his communications career as a reporter for The Call & Post – Ohio’s largest and oldest African-American newspaper – and later as an award-winning journalist for the now defunct Cleveland Press which was the flagship newspaper of the Scripps-Howard chain.

He was recruited from the newspaper industry by the former Ohio Bell Telephone Company to serve as a media relations manager, a position he held for nearly 20 years.

Prior to entering journalism and the communications field, he was a police officer on the Cleveland Heights police department.
